A new Saint Billy Bodley contingent was reconfigured out of neonatal necessity when charter lead guitarist Billy Traber became the father of his first child.  Virtuoso guitarist, percussionist, and vocalist Mat Summers was recruited to fill the void.  The fit was good, as they say, and Summers added his impressive talent and repertoire to the Bodley mix for a late-June gig and delightedly as a permanent addition to the Saint Billy Bodley family in the months to follow.  Here, Summers (second from left) and the lads (far left: Asher St. Pierre, to right of Summers: John Stradley and Wasyl Bodnar) perform at the East Side Bake Shop in the Mammoth Lakes area of California in August, 2015.  – Image by DJ Stradley

The Bodleys Font

“The Bodleys”! – A long-overdue name change and logo font took form in June, 2018, as reconfiguration and dissension in the ranks demanded change.  The new moniker retains some of the charm of its predecessor, but it is not inclusive of all band members’ names as was the original.  Other “inclusive and semi-inclusive” names were fronted (“Saint “Butch” Bodley, “The Cool Guys & Also John,” “Ashkom Sumbodley and the Lime-Lighters, “The Piekomers,”along with dozens of off-putting, rude, and downright inappropriate band names) before the ensemble settled on this appellation.
